Explore a world of art, performance and play.

Join us at the Art Gallery of New South Wales for a free, fun-filled festival for children and families on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 January 2024.

Let your imagination fly at this celebration of art and community, encompassing themes of nature and the environment.

Collaborate on a gigantic cardboard sculpture with designer and architect Noa Haim from Collective Paper Aesthetics. Get creative in hands-on workshops, and immerse yourself in the magic of storytelling, with performances for all ages. Journey by train between the Sydney CBD and Blacktown in an exciting audio adventure.

Created in collaboration with Claudia Chidiac and in partnership with Blacktown Arts, Hive Festival is part of the Sydney Festival 2024.

Entry is free!
To the Art Gallery, all Hive Festival events and most of our displays and exhibitions.

Children under 12 are admitted free to the ticketed Louise Bourgeois and Kandinsky exhibitions, for which there are family discounts and free children’s trails.
