Andrew Tomkins Where do we go now?

This painting is the culmination of many works produced from a trip to the coastal village of Wooli, evolving from sketches of a natural arbour in the tightly knit, windblown banksia heathlands of the Yuraygir National Park. Travelling these pathways, you can’t help but feel a sense of foreboding.

It is increasingly evident that our political leaders have hijacked the direction in which we are travelling in regards to environmental stewardship. As a nation, we need to take action for the future of the natural world we share. For with our apathy we will pay. This begs the question, ‘Where do we go now?’
