Mostafa Azimitabar No friend but the mountains

‘No friend but the mountains’ is an old Kurdish saying that symbolises resistance against racism and persecution.

I paint with coffee and a toothbrush to highlight the story of every refugee who has an uncertain future. I survived eight years being locked up in a cage by the Australian Government. Although now free, I still cannot study, and live in limbo. The government wants me to leave Australia, but I am not going to give up. I believe Australians are wonderful people. My message is love.
