Hyperreality is generally defined as a condition in which what is real and what is fiction are blended together so that there is no clear distinction between where one ends and the other begins. My current body of work explores materiality, representation and hyperreality. I work between lexicons of photography and painting, taking aspects that are inherent to each medium, so that each, through appropriation of the other’s qualities, becomes a simulation; a hyperreal experience that the viewer accepts as truth.
