William Pidgeon Venita

oil on canvas

105 x 81.5 cm

The subject of this portrait by William Pidgeon is artist Venita Salnajs (later also known as Venita Zusters), who had a work exhibited in the Wynne Prize the same year. It would be the last portrait that Pidgeon painted, due to his failing eyesight, and one that he considered to be among his best.
