This portrait by Esme Bell of Leslie Herron (1902–1973), chief justice of NSW from 1962 to 1972, is now in the collection of the Australian Golf Club, where Herron was president from 1944 to 1972. Bell entered another portrait of Herron in the 1968 Archibald Prize.
