This portrait by Eric Smith of architect Neville Gruzman is now in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra.

Smith entered the painting in the 1968 Archibald, along with a second portrait of artist John Olsen, but neither was shortlisted by the trustees in their selection of the winner and, in that year, only the winning portrait was exhibited because of building works at Gallery.

A Smith portrait of Gruzman would win the 1970 Archibald Prize and another was selected as a finalist in 1983.
