This portrait by William Dargie of medical scientist Frank Macfarlane Burnet(1899–1985) is now in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra. Burnet was awarded the Nobel Prize for medicine in 1960 for his work with Peter Medawar on acquired immunological tolerance to tissue transplants.
