The subject of this portrait by Mary Brady is Alan Mayo Webb (1885–1962), who was a judge in the NSW Industrial Court at the time the work was painted. The artist’s brother and Webb’s son were friends, which lead to Brady requesting to paint Webb for the Archibald.
