The subject of this portrait by Amalie Colquhoun is Graeme Penington (1932–2012), a young family friend of the artist’s. Originally, Penington was misspelled Pennington in the title of the work, which Colquhoun also titled The odd job man, and which depicts the boy in overalls with a range of tools.
