This portrait of artist Margaret Coen (1909–1993) by EA Harvey is now in the collection of the Mitchell Library, State Library of New South Wales, with the title Portrait of Margaret Coen.

Coen and Harvey met at night art classes. When the portrait was painted, the then 23-year-old Coen was struggling to earn a living in commercial art at the same time. She would later exhibit three portraits in the Archibald, in 1940, 1941 and 1942, as well as multiple paintings in the Wynne, winning the Pring Prize in 1968.
