Norman Carter Miss Nancy Hazelton

This portrait by Norman Carter is one of 58 works by Carter shown in the Archibald between 1921 and 1953. It depicts architect Elsa Annette Isobel Hazelton (1906–1964), who was also known as Nancy. Hazelton studied architecture at the University of Sydney, graduating in 1929; Carter was her drawing lecturer. The painting is now in the University Art Collection in the Chau Chak Wing Museum at the university.
