It appears that this portrait of artist George Collingridge (1847–1931) by JS Watkins was altered after it was exhibited in the 1927 Archibald Prize. Collingridge’s jacket was repainted. The final painting – which was completed in December 1938 – is now in the Art Gallery of NSW collection.
