During Sydney WorldPride 2023, Sydney’s iconic queerbourhood bar and creative space The Bearded Tit presented their popular Bearded Tit Talks at the Art Gallery across three Sundays during Sydney WorldPride 2023. The three talks were curated by Bearded Tit owner Joy Ng and radio presenter and DJ Kilimi (Aketi Foketi).

Moderated by Kilimi, each talk brought together a dynamic group of LGBTQIA+ arts practitioners and community leaders to reflect on identity and belonging across LGBTQIA+, migrant and Western Sydney communities.

Queer futures and religious pasts

Hear from queer religious leaders about the ways conservative upbringings influence queer lives and the ways they have created alternative spaces of worship and congregation, including on dancefloors and community-run spaces.
