Win Tub The enigma in us

My body of work represents my acceptance of adolescence and the heavy emotions which burden us. My coming to self-realisation and acceptance echoes the experiences of my parents and all minorities, who have a disconnection due to generational circumstances. The work represents my ‘frontier’ persona, fabricated over the years and perfected to appeal to all. The smaller self-portraits express the inner conflict between emotions and thoughts that have been constricted by this facade of contentment, yet are striving to reach the world beyond the subconscious. I use charcoal strokes and inscription to explore emotions both physically and linguistically.
