Charcoal and ink leave imprints, marks, not just on paper, but on skin, burying themselves into the cracks. My body of work, LUMINOUS EVOCATIONS: 'The Chiaroscuro of feelings', represents how influential feelings are and how, like charcoal and ink, they build up, blocking out layers of emotion. I explored my feelings of rage, fear and becoming overwhelmed. My intention was to create a personal recount of my attempt to find myself and the inevitable complications of coming to terms with the impact of delving into my identity. My work represents a letting go, a release.
