In our modern world, where rows of concrete buildings dominate the streets, remnants of the old world have been left behind in the form of overwhelmingly beautiful architecture. I have always been fascinated with the attention to detail and pride that seems to have gone into producing such structures, and can't help but feel as if such pride has been lost in modernist culture. By using coloured pencil in a realistic style in my body of work, my intention is to represent the incredible detail of the old world, detail that our new world is quickly forgetting.
