Jessica O'Donnell Biomorphic
Humans and technology exist in a symbiotic relationship: if one is removed the other loses its ability to function. Biomorphic explores the concept of human reliance on technological devices, and the dependence of technological devices on humanity. In my body of work each human appendage correlates with an individual function that is fused with technology. The medium is tinted silicone as it offers the closest resemblance to human flesh and form. Patricia Piccinini and her Curious affection series ignited my fascination with the human anatomy and our reliance on inanimate technological objects.
