Patrick Cremin Urban selection

Work by Patrick Cremin

Throughout the making of my body of work I explored the isolated and lonely relationships experienced in an urban environment. By constantly travelling to the city I was able to witness the dramatic lack of human connection that is seen in the city, compared to that of more rural environments. This led me to investigate the concept of relationships in an urban environment. I represented both the figures and the environment as bleak and decayed by using housepaint, spraypaint and shellac. This choice shows how both are equally bleak and decayed. The paintings reflect the lack of interaction in contemporary society today.
