Robert Klippel

Robert Klippel (1920–2001) is widely regarded as Australia’s leading sculptor. As well as sculptures, he produced a remarkable body of drawings, watercolours and collages during a career spanning six decades.

The Robert Klippel archive at the Art Gallery of New South Wales was assembled by the artist and is his main archival collection, thoroughly documenting his life and art from early childhood until his death. The selection reproduced online includes personal photographs of the artist, his friends, family, studio and works.
